Residents' Litter Picking Group
The Litter Picking Group usually meets on the third Sunday of every month 10.30 to 12 noon at the Sports Pavilion on the Recreation Ground.
More volunteer litter pickers are needed to help keep the Village tidy and a place we can be proud to live in.
The Leaders and Organisers of the group are Stefanie and Richard Smith and can be contacted via email – kiwi.smith@hotmail.co.uk or phone – 07798 538580
The Parish Council supports the Litter Pickers and provides the Group with bags, ‘picking’ equipment and a generic Risk Assessment for safety guidance.
Adopt a Street
In addition to the Monthly organised litter pick, the Group also has initiated an ‘Adopt a Street’ scheme.
Many Residents routinely take the trouble to pick up litter they see on the street whenever they see it, so Stefanie and Richard are keeping an informal list where people can nominate a Road or Street where they will carry out their own litter picks as and when they wish to. It is hoped that by Residents adopting specific areas their efforts will not be duplicated and it may result in getting full coverage of the Parish.
The Litter Picking Group have applied for a grant for extra sets of equipment that can be ‘loaned’ out to Residents who do ‘Adopt a Street’
