Meeting Arrangements
Parish Council meetings are scheduled to be held on the second Tuesday of the month, except in August and December. Meetings start at 7.30pm and are normally held in the Sports Pavilion on the Recreation Ground off Cranleigh Drive.
Agenda for meetings will be published on this website and on Notice Boards before each meeting.
Early on the Agenda of each Parish Council meeting there is the opportunity for members of the public to speak during the ten-minute public participation session where any questions can be asked and any matters can be raised. If you wish to raise an issue at a meeting and you feel this time would not be sufficient or appropriate, please speak to the Parish Clerk or one of the Councillors at least seven days before the meeting.
The Annual Meeting of the Council
This is a full Council meeting held in May where the election of the Chairman is the first business.
The Annual Parish or Town Meeting
This is not a Council meeting. It is a meeting of the Parish Electors that must take place between 1 March and 1 June. Electors can contribute to the agenda and in practice these meetings often celebrate local activities and debate current issues in the community. The Chairman of the Council, any two Councillors or any six Electors can call the Annual Parish Meeting. The Parish Council Chairman, if present, will chair the meeting, but there is no prescribed format for this meeting.
Parish Office and Staffing arrangements
Council Staff continue to work, in accordance with all Government Guidelines, to ensure statutory obligations are met and to carry out regular Health and Safety checks and Maintenance of the Recreation Ground and associated buildings.
